Description

White Powder Paint Base Coat (Primer) for Brighter Glow Jigs

Get a cleaner, brighter, longer-lasting glow with a proper base coat. Our White Powder Paint Base is a non-glow powder coating designed to be used as a first dip before applying Techno Glow® Glow-in-the-Dark Heat & Dip Powder Paints. A white undercoat reflects more light back through the glow layer, helping your finished jig charge faster, appear brighter, and glow longer.

Why Use a White Base Coat Before Glow?

  • Boosts brightness: White reflects light through the glow layer instead of absorbing it.
  • Improves coverage: Helps glow colors look more uniform and less thin, patchy, or speckled.
  • Better glow performance: More reflected light means stronger charge and longer glow time.
  • Cleaner finished look: Ideal for jig heads, weights, metal lures, and hardware.

Heat & Dip Instructions (Jigs / Metal Parts)

  1. Shake the jar to loosen the powder.
  2. Set the container down carefully to keep the powder fluffy, then remove the lid.
  3. Heat the metal to approximately 500°F for 5–10 seconds using a heat gun or a small torch flame. Avoid creating smoke (overheating can scorch or overbake the finish).
  4. Dip quickly into the white powder and watch it melt into a smooth, glossy coat.
  5. Optional: Immediately dip into Techno Glow® Glow Powder Paint for a glow topcoat.
  6. If the object is too hot, the paint may drip. Use less heat or a shorter heating time.
  7. Rotate and hang to cool. Remove any excess powder/paint as needed.
  8. For small cracks or chips, lightly reheat until the surface flows smooth again.
