Fluorescent pigments illuminate a vibrant color in the presence of a black light. These powders are designed to be added to a deep base paint or other gels, mediums and binders. Add some fluorescent to glow in the dark paint for a more vivid opaque daytime tint. Fluorescent colors can be mixed to create almost any color in the spectrum. Unlike phosphorescent pigments, fluorescent pigments are not visible in the dark. Does not dissolve. Does not mix well with water.
To make paint, add a small amount of paint to the pigment to create a thoroughly mixed paste (this is called the wetting process). Then add this paste to the larger container of paint and stir. The wetting process allows this really fine pigment not to clump as much. We recommend you test the best mixing ratio for your application, but most use a 2-10% ratio of fluorescent to medium either by weight or volume.
